EVENT RULES::
The DVG National Champion will be decided by the highest scoring IGP 3 Dog entered into the event.
High in Trial will be awarded to the highest scoring dog team (IGP1, IGP2, or IGP3) in the event.
We will be offering sufficient practice tracking.
We will provide you with addresses of the practice fields.

DO NOT PRACTICE ON HAY FIELDS WITHOUT PERMISSION WITHIN A 60 MILE RADIUS OF THE PODIUM WORKING DOG CLUB EXCEPT FOR THE APPROVED PRACTICE FIELD!

A competitor and/or the dog entered in the 2023 DVG National Championship will be dismissed from the event if the competitor, the owner or handler of a dog entered in the 2023 DVG National Championship is caught practicing on the Championship tracking fields and /or Stadium.
Helpers
Helpers may not work any dogs that are entered in the Championship from 12 midnight the Sunday before the Championship until the Championship trial activities are completed, except during the Championship itself!
Dress Code
You must wear black pants and a plain white collared shirt in the obedience and protection phases. The shirt may be either short or long sleeved. No club insignia or logos are allowed. You can wear whatever you like for tracking. Black pants and a white shirt should be worn for the closing ceremonies as well. Outerwear for inclement weather is allowed.

We are offering sufficient practice training for obedience and protection.

PRACTICE/TRAINING AT THE STADIUM OF THE 2023 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GROUNDS!
No handler entered in the trial may train on the championship field / Stadium.
Dog teams can only enter the 2023 DVG National trial field/stadium during their designated practice time and designated show time!
The only exception is for bitches in season, who will be permitted practice time immediately after all other dogs in the competition have completed both phases in the stadium!
During the official practice, and prior to the beginning of the trial (as defined by handing in the score book at the draw), commonly used corrective devices may be used in a humane manner motivational items may also be used.
After the official start to the competition (draw night), which takes place at the draw when the score book is handed in, no corrective device may be used within view of the championship venue. Motivational items may be used at the trail site during the trail (to be clear: parking lot area, dog walking area) until entering the tracking field or stadium field.
NO MOTIVATIONAL ITEMS ARE ALLOWED ON THE OFFICIAL TRIAL FIELDS DURING PREFORMANCE! TRACKING, OBEDIENCE, PROTECTION!
FEMALES IN HEAT
The trial chairman (Hartmut Beckman) needs to be notified immediately when a female which is entered in the 2023 DVG National Championship is in heat or goes into heat during the Championship competition prior to the practice/training/trailing on the championship field. The handler(s) of those particular female(s) will receive sufficient training time after all other dogs in the competition have completed both phases, but before their scheduled performance. The trail chairman may ask for a veterinarian certificate or proof.
